How we work.
An independent tech and AI aggregator owes readers a clear account of its editorial discipline. This page documents how TechWave AI Pulse decides what to surface, how to cluster coverage, when to refuse a strong verdict, and what to do when we are wrong. If you find a flaw in this method, send us the evidence; we will respond on this page.
1 · What we aggregate
TechWave AI Pulse pulls the last 24 hours from a curated set of ~50 tech & AI newsrooms worldwide and primary sources: AI labs, security researchers, standards bodies, court filings, company blogs, developer changelogs, investor disclosures, and incident reports. The publisher or source list appears in the credit line of each story.
2 · Attribution before reach
We aggregate and attribute. We do not rewrite or rehost original reporting. Every headline links to its original publisher or primary source. Our value-add is collation, deduplication of the same event reported by multiple sources, functional classification, and a public reader vote — not the journalism itself.
3 · Primary-source discipline
Primary documents help distinguish signal from launch theatre. Model cards, benchmark disclosures, CVEs, incident postmortems, court filings, regulatory notices, earnings documents, and release notes can anchor a cluster when they are the source of the event. We quote sparingly and send readers back to the origin for depth.
4 · Story function — how stories are classified
Every story is labelled under our function taxonomy: launch, funding, breakthrough, adoption, setback, legal, controversy, breach, outage, or hype. These describe the function of the story, not a moral verdict:
- launch — a product, model, feature, tool, or infrastructure release.
- funding — financing, acquisition, valuation, or major commercial deal.
- breakthrough — substantive research, capability, standard, or engineering advance.
- adoption — meaningful deployment by users, enterprises, developers, or institutions.
- setback — delays, losses, layoffs, reversals, failures, or credible risk.
- legal — lawsuits, regulation, enforcement, policy action, or compliance obligations.
- controversy — disputed decisions, labour disputes, safety concerns, ethics debates, or platform fights.
- breach — security compromise, data exposure, vulnerability exploitation, or privacy failure.
- outage — major downtime, degraded service, infrastructure failure, or real-world operational harm.
- hype — rumours, thinly sourced claims, marketing overreach, or speculative buzz demoted in the feed.
Each story also carries a lens: Progress, Strain, or Noise. Launches, funding, breakthroughs, and adoption usually indicate Progress; setbacks, legal disputes, and controversies indicate Strain; breaches and outages are serious Strain; hype is Noise even when the underlying status maps to positive momentum.
Editorial discipline behind the classification — same rulebook for every lab, platform, startup, investor, and regulator. A technology we personally like is not automatically Progress. A company we distrust is not automatically Strain. When evidence is ambiguous, we prefer a cautious label over a dramatic one.
5 · Multi-source clustering
When the same event is reported by multiple newsrooms or confirmed by a primary source, those reports collapse into one card with sources stacked underneath. Each card shows the number of sources covering an event. A single-source story is flagged for that reason; readers know to treat it with extra care until corroborated.
6 · Ranking
Stories are ordered by an open principle: events covered by multiple independent sources rise to the top; recency matters; hype is heavily demoted. Multi-source substantive events from the last few hours lead the page. Single-source claims, however dramatic, do not lead.
7 · The reader vote
Every story carries a vote bar. Readers can confirm or challenge the editorial reading (Progress · Strain · Noise). When public votes outweigh the editorial baseline in a different direction, the story carries a public challenge stamp showing the editorial-vs-reader delta. Counts are visible; nothing is hidden. One vote per browser per story, changeable. No login required.
8 · The Take — the editorial desk
TechWave AI Pulse publishes opinion under a single named editorial desk: The Take. Each take is short, labelled with one opinion verdict, and cites the news story it responds to. Opinion is firewalled from news classification: the desk has a voice; the news labels do not. The Take refuses to opine on unverified rumours, single-source claims, marketing fluff, or harassment bait; better to publish nothing than to embarrass ourselves with hot takes on noise.
9 · The Daily Brief
Once a day we publish a Daily Brief — "5 things that matter · 2 rumours to ignore · 1 launch to watch." Reportorial voice, sharp one-line takeaways, beat-diverse selection. The "launch to watch" surfaces releases and deployments readers should track over weeks, not hours. Past editions are archived at /brief/YYYY-MM-DD.
10 · Reader submissions
Readers can send us candidate stories, primary documents, reproducible security research, or corrections. Submissions are inputs, not publication guarantees. We do not present reader claims as verified unless they are corroborated.
11 · Public traffic dashboard
Our traffic data lives at /visitors — page views, sessions, top stories, countries, devices, and browser languages. No cookies, no IP addresses stored, no third-party analytics services. The dashboard is the only data we collect and the only data we publish.
12 · Corrections
If a story is mis-classified or mis-attributed, send us the evidence with the title "CORRECTION:". We will adjust and publish a note on this page. The public vote acts as a slower self-correction: when readers systematically disagree with a classification, the verdict shifts and the editorial-vs-reader delta becomes public.
13 · Funding, conflicts, ownership
TechWave AI Pulse is built and maintained inside TechWave Academy. Operating costs are paid out of pocket. There are no advertisers, no sponsors, no paid placements, and no investors influencing coverage. If any of this changes, this paragraph will change first.
Signal over noise. The tech cycle is loud; our job is to make it legible.
