About these editorials
Every op-ed on this page is opinion, written under the persona The Take and reserved for stories multiple newsrooms are reporting — the ones substantial enough to merit a full argument. The persona, the principles, and the source story are all published. No black boxes, no sponsors, no bags held.
- Opinion, clearly marked. These are arguments, not reporting. The facts link back to the original newsrooms.
- Only the big stories. An op-ed is written only when several newsrooms corroborate an event — never on a single-source rumour.
- If we're wrong, we say so. Corrections are posted on the story.
